Only thing that stopped me was I already have all the dies , tooling , and a very large supply of .308 Sierra and Berger target bullets I've been stock-piling for over a year .

Not to mention the 700 cases I've cleaned and prepped with hand tools for accuracy loading .Been planning this whole project for almost two years , but that 6.5 almost made me bite .

Is the case length 47mm. ?

Grindl,
The case length is 53.36mm or 2.100"

The bullets used for the dummies were 139 lapua scenar. Seating depth and overall length is kind of up in the air for now til we get a better feel for overall case length, throat depth, etc. Cases were worked up resizing new Norma brass with dies from ch4d.com

Case length of 2.100 . Very cool . That's only .010 shorter than I'm trimming my cases now . and the length of the 200 PPU cases I just received this week from Graf's .

I realize this is all subject to change , but only having to "Neck down" a standard case without excessive shortening and then re-sizing ? Boggles the mind .
If not me.....Who ?
If not now ....When ?

Been making my own variant on this case. More modern though. Took most of the case taper out and used a 30d shoulder. Also kept the neck as long as the original case. Have made a website to on all the details as I develop it. Working on a test rifle now for it. I am also giving it an entirely different name. The 6.5 BR Lapua

I've had a build on hold for awhile due to wanting something in 6.5 and waiting to hear more about this. Id like to hear more about modufying the brass and the reamer specs.

Its really easy. Simply size and shoot. I have put a lot of info on the website on forming it. If my sizing die ever gets here I will have progress soon.
