Happy Father's Day anyone go shooting?

Postby jaysny87 » Sun Jun 21, 2015 6:34 pm

Happy fathers day to all the dads on here!

I spent my morning up at the range. No rain for Houston today. did some zero confirmation and muzzle velocity confirmation at 200 yards. Went out and shot some steel silhouettes at 600 yards. It was a nice day for a Texas summer, only about 85 to 90 degrees with a 10 mph tail wind.

So what did y'all do today?

That scope is a Redfield Revolution TAC MOA 3-9 X 40.
It's actually a pretty good scope.
Here's some info on it.

Yes sir!! I got to got out shooting... :D

My buddy is going to shoot at an ELR match in Ratton NM, and I'll probably be spotting for him. We got to experience what the wind calls look like for conditions, and the dope matched up into subsonic range.

The elevation turrent is bottomed out and we used a cold shot base to zero it at 1,000... so we've got the entire range of the scope to dial. 8-) I was able to get a first round hit on the 8" diamond at 1,000 yds, and a second round hit at 2360 yds. My buddy shot the targets in sequence (1000, 1400, 1760, 2100, 2360, and 2730) and was able to get hits on all with three rounds or less. He did have myself and another guy watching wind and spotting for him though. Still impressive... he achieved a third round hit at 2,730 yds on an IPSC target!!! 8-)

Wanted to go but it was just to hot and too crowded. I also needed to reload some more 7.62x54R before we go, with 2 boys they burn it up quick.

Yep sure did, here's a silhouette I shot at 700yds with my 6.5-06. The center mass shots were too easy so I switched to headshots...
