Finnish m39 build

Postby Deathsythe311 » Sat Sep 05, 2015 8:05 pm

Friend of mine wanted me to do a build for him. He wanted the best of the best for a mosin that could shoot factory ammo. Build includes:

Finnish m39 barreled action
Timney trigger
Boyd's rifle stock
Rock soild bent bolt
Rock soild rail
Bedding pillars and custom bolt handle knob
Fully bedded the action
Blasted and Duracoated multicam and action black

When I shot it with irons before this it shot 1-1.5 inch groups with surplus at 100 yards. Smoothest action for A mosin I have ever felt. Will post pictures of a range report once he gets a scope for it.

Dont try to sell it. You will never get your money back.

Not trying to be harsh. Its a great looking gun you built. Just not my preference to tale a $500 M39 and put 400$ into it and end up with a 500$ gun.

By the way do you still have the original M39stock?

This was bought as a barreled action. No stock was with it. I wouldn't do this to a normal m39. My friend saw my other builds and he wanted one for himself. He paid for everything. I'm showing off the completed work I did. I'll take it out Wednesday to shoot. See how it does.

Beautiful build .   Excellent choices of all the components you chose to create a "most excellent" example of a modern field rifle. I would recommend the 6-24x50 HST Vortex for the scope. It is the "hunting" member of the "Viper" family of Vortex scopes , and a outstanding piece of equipment.

Not all M-N's are certified "museum pieces" , and if all you have to work with is a barreled action , then that's what you build with . Just me ; but tell your friend that if he isn't satisfied with it and wants to sell it , I'm local to you , and Momma already gave me a "green light" for it . Nice build .

I too say you used great components and it will be accurate! Don't worry about what other people say! MOST, Russian barrels are trash and if you were to do a rebarreled to get the m39 accuracy, you would have paid more than what you did for the entire barreled action... I have done this too and it is actually cheaper this way... great job!

Grindl hit me up if you want to do a shoot at a local range. If you need some duracoating as well hit me up. I did the camo here and the barreled action.
