Bob ; I've got a 91/30 - 26" military barrel w/a 4 port MB&M brake and shooting a 2-2 1/2" group at 200 yards pretty consistently with 174 SMK and 43gr of Varget . Barrel slugged at .3114/.3116 and I shoot a lot of light ball 148 mil-surp thru her , too .
Some day when I have more time , I'll dial in a really good load to see what I can wring out of her , but I'm getting about 95%-1st hits at 800 the way she is , so I'm happy for now . I'm sure you'll get what-ever she can give out of her .
If not me.....Who ?
If not now ....When ?

That sounds good for a surplus barrel. I have read several times that varget is a good powder with the 174's, thanks for posting the load info.

Finished up on the recoil lug bedding then bedded the action in the stock. Bed job looks really good, I'll get some pictures up soon. Diggin thru my ring box to find some low rings to mount the 30mm tube.

No I haven't gotten around to posting pictures of all the stuff that goes with the stock. Bayo, oil bottle, ammo pouches, sling, ect..... I think $75.00 would be fair to ask.

Finished up with bedding and final stock fitting. tonight I plan to touch up the finish and seal any exposed inside wood.

This is a cross recoil lug bedded in to absorb recoil. 3/8" square metal stock shaped to fit.

Here is the finished bed, turned out quite good.

Finally finished with the Blonde Russian project, I picked this 91/30 up at a local gun shop, never fired a round thru it just inspected everything I could then gave it a good cleaning. After reading several posts on this forum and working with Bluegrass Gun Works and Rock Solid I started to build my first Mosin Nagant. Once things got rolling I found a post by "Russian Reloads" and was intrigued with the barrel sleeve process along with "Grimstod" and his tips on tweaking components for proper fit. Another member on the forum "Iraqueveteran888" has several good videos on the Rouko channel on bolt tuning tips.

This afternoon I arrived at the range with the Blond Russian and several factory 7.62x54R 148grain ammo box's. If I can shoot M.O.A. @ 100yards with this ole Mosin I will be extremely happy with that! The weather was very windy with +25mph gusts and temps in the high 50's. First up was the "White Box" Russian 7.62x54R ammo 148grain, this will get things on paper at 50 yards then pushing out to 100 yards. Well once zeroed at 100 yrds I was wondering if this 91/30 could group at all :lolno: :| since it looked like 1-1/4" groups were common.

After walking out to change targets I thought it was time time to change ammo since I brought three different loads one being the Brass cased 150 grain Wolf "Gold". First off I would shoot the old Black/Red boxed Wolf 148grain ammo I use in my Romanian PSL, with the first three rounds landing in a 1/2" 100 yard group I thought yea right that's not a regular consistent group  So I loaded up another three rounds and between wind gusts and the sun streaking thru the trees I drilled another 1/2" three shot group!

I have been shooting these Leatherwood optics on severa rifles and am still sold on there quality and repeatability.

I want to thank everyone on this forum for posting helpful tips on Nagant builds and the sleeved barrel turned out better than I could have ever expected!
