Red Star scope mounts

Postby Even11 » Sun Oct 12, 2014 10:54 pm

Anyone seen one of these yet? Looks like a simplified, modernized pu mount thats actually low enough to get a reasonable cheek weld. I'd be interested in your guys opinions. Seems like a pretty good price too. I emailed the builder "Tyler" for more info.

Every snowflake is unique. There are uncountable grains of sand on the beach. Mosin-Nagants are like sandy snowflakes. You’ll never get all the ones you want.

So he got back to me and this is what he said about the hex receivers & payment.

"These are built for round receivers however I modify them for hex free of charge.
If you would like one I accept PayPal to tyler4590@gmail.com
Or check/money order
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Tyler"

They look pretty good for the money. I think I might have to pick one up. What do you guys think?

I've never heard of them before, they remind me of a mount I saw a few years back that were very similar. The concept is solid, the only things that could be the issues are the rifle itself, not every receiver is created equal and the alignment may not be exact out of the box. Keep us posted if you do purchase one.

I have this mounted on my Mosin and love it. It is very solid and holds zero well. I've spoken with Tyler mentioned above and he has been extremely helpful.

I bought one, have yet to mount it. Looks like it will do well. Marauder 1 is right not receivers are the same, may not fit well on all without modification.
Would like to hear how yours turns out when you do mount it.
