Mine is 1.2 down to 1.0 . Its going to be milled down to fit flush to the reciever. My gunsmith says he can reinforce the stock to where its not an issue, as well as strengthen the rear action screw.

Im just letting him run with it! Hes got30+ yrs experience and the personal reference from shilen... lol, he know more than I do!

What your gun smith is going to do it basically what I suggested. True up the action. Sounds like he is a good smith and one to be trusted.

Here is a the reamer I recommend. Its the only good reamer for 311. The PTG reamer is meant for both 308 and 311 but as you can imagine any time you make something do more then one things it does both with less precision.

Don't be a fraud to float that barrel. Its not that heavy and those archangel stocks are carbon reinforced.

The barrel tension nut is basically an in stock tuner. Its not there because the barrel needs support.

The reamer posted will work for either .308 or .311. The reamer is made by Dave Kiff owner of PTG. If you feel the SAMMI dimensions are not to your liking you can order a custom reamer from Dave. The SAMMI numbers are at the minimum or smallest that can be considered constant between all 762x54r chambers.

If anyone knows where I can find a stripped down, round mosin receiver, that would be awesome! My gun smith is just trying to be prepared for the worst case scenario. Hes currently soaking the rig in diesel. Hoping that will ease things up! Tomorrow he'll try his luck at getting it apart.

Look on Gun Broker. You can find them there cheap at times.

Doing a plung cut right where the barrel meats the receiver will make her come apart vary easy. I I had a barrel that was put on with 200lbs and with the plung cut it came off with almost no effort.
