If I am correct I believe serial numbers were not implemented until 1953. I have a Remington 510 with no serial numbers.

I am the same with numerous Remingtons and Winchesters. The real oddball is an Iver Johnson Champion shotgun with a 4 digit letter code that translates into a month/year of production.

Most of the Remington Mosins had serial #s, it is not uncommon for them to be un-numbered. My Remington project has a serial #. On commercial guns they did not need serial #s until the gun control act of 1968. Most companies already did beforehand, but it was not the law.

Every snowflake is unique. There are uncountable grains of sand on the beach. Mosin-Nagants are like sandy snowflakes. You’ll never get all the ones you want.
