He's back... Maybe this will be the year

Postby ShootnMathews » Tue Nov 05, 2013 9:00 pm

I have hunted this buck for 3 years as a cull buck (with no success) because he had no G3 on one side. He was a 7 pt which my farm was plagued with because oh him and his twin breeding all the does. I got his twin with a bow last year but this guy has eluded me for 3 years. Now he's back but certainly no cull buck this year. He is now 5-1/2 years old and finally popped out a G3 to make him an 8 pt. I'll post pictures of him in year order. I do not have hard horned pics of him on my phone ( I'm posting from), only on the computer. His general size can be seen though. At 4-1/2 he was wider than at 3-1/2 but his tines were shorter. This year he has it all. First two pics will be at 3-1/2 years. One pic at 4-1/2. And a few now. Wish me luck. He is my new target.
Jared

Well poop. Says pics are too big from phone. I will resize on computer and post pics tomorrow. Look for pics then. Ill resize one on my phone now. Takes too long to do them all

At 5-1/2 years now his body is massive which diminishes the rack. For scale that feeder is nearly 24" wide and he is licking corn off the spinner. His favorite trick.

Oh yeah, and my 14 year old took a 5 point with my custom Finn with the bluegrass stock. Hit him in the shoulder with a 180 gr sierra soft point and took it of its feet at about 220 yds... There was a youth hunt this past weekend... I was hoping to hunt with my mosin and he beat me to it...

And finally this year he's 5.5yrs old. One pic is next to a 3 1/2 yr old 8pt that I've been trying to take with my longbow. Just can't get with in range. But now I have a new target now that my old friend has returned

Thanks game. If I'm lucky enough to take him he will be my biggest buck to date. I'm guessing he'll score somewhere around 135-140.
