I got my M28-30 for $275 and thought it a bargain. I think Mark is lowballing a bit. $250-300 is a good price, but average is more in the $325-$500 range for an M28-30. As Mark mentioned, these are among the most accurate and the only .3082 bored Mosins, and the prices reflect it.
M39's average $300-400
Here are the results from recent auctions I had been watching:
19xx M28 $324.99 and $290.00
1940 M28/30 SK.y. Civil Guard $557(Ave cond., no issue number)
1939 M28/30 SK.y. Civil Guard Reserve not met @$375 (Unissued, Grade 2 stamp)
19XX M24 Reserve Not met @$375 (buy it now was $600)
Remember, this has a .3082 bore, so reloads are advised.
I prefer the Civil Guard rifles. The auctions tend to show the same, as they go for more. Your unit has a lined out Civilian Guard issue district number, so there is some interesting history to be uncovered there.
