Virginia: Delegate Attempts to Sneak Anti-Gun Legislation In!

This past Friday, January 21, was the last day for bill introduction in the Virginia General Assembly and one legislator attempted to slide a bill under the radar. Delegate Betsy Carr (D-69) introduced House Bill 2524, which seeks to ban the sale, barter or transfer of any firearms magazine that are designed to hold more than 20 rounds of ammunition.  Del. Carr seems to be following the playbook of longtime anti-gun Representative Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), who recently introduced H.R. 308, the “Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Actâ€, which in addition to banning the manufacture and importation of new magazines will also make it illegal to transfer currently owned magazines.

The National Rifle Association has created and posted a new Fact Sheet to our website to better inform people of the widespread and common use of self-defense magazines.

While Delegate Carr is attempting to restrict the rights and freedoms of law-abiding citizens with HB 2524 she has also introduced HJ 610, a Constitutional Amendment seeking to restore the rights of convicted felons to vote.

Contact Del. Carr by email or phone at 804-698-1069 and ask the Delegate how she justifies working to take away your freedoms but simultaneously working to restore those of convicted felons?
